MPR RI to Restructure Jury Format for Four Pillars Quiz Competition
Abraham Liyanto explained that the MPR RI comprises three main bodies: the Socialisation Body, the Research Body, and the Budgeting Body. The Four Pillars Quiz Competition (LCC Empat Pilar) is an initiative under the Socialisation Body, designed to enhance public understanding of the four pillars of national identity.
Speaking at a press conference in the Nusantara IV lobby of the Parliament Complex in Jakarta, Abraham was joined by the Vice Chairman of the MPR RI, Abcandra Muhammad Akbar Supratman, and the Acting Secretary General of the MPR RI, Siti Fauziah. He noted that as of 9 May 2026, the competition has been held in 15 provinces, with West Kalimantan being the 15th, leaving 23 provinces yet to host the 2026 programme.
However, due to recent dynamics during the West Kalimantan event, implementation in other provinces has been postponed. On Tuesday, 12 May 2026, the leadership of the Socialisation Body held an online meeting and decided to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of both the jury panel and the organisers.
The meeting addressed official statements from SMAN 1 Pontianak and SMAN 1 Sambas, which included a refusal to undergo a re-run of the quiz competition. Abraham stated that the joint meeting with MPR leadership decided to respect the stance taken by both schools. He remarked that the attitude shown by the schools was a real-world implementation of the Four Pillars’ values, demonstrating tolerance, unity, justice, and democracy.
Moving forward, a follow-up meeting will be held to evaluate the composition of the Jury Panel. The new format intends to recruit judges from the ranks of constitutional law experts and local university academics. Through this new structure, the MPR hopes the socialisation of the Four Pillars will become more grounded and easily understood by the public.
Abraham added that the Four Pillars Quiz Competition will continue to be organised with improved management quality and more professional judges. The ultimate goal is to ensure that the values of the Four Pillars—Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika—strengthen the younger generation’s love for the nation. He emphasised that the primary objective of this socialisation is to ensure all Indonesians understand national values and the principles of national and state life correctly, fostering patriotism, democracy, and constitutional awareness.
