MPR RI promotes national values among the younger generation through marching competition
The Acting Secretary General of the MPR RI, Siti Fauziah, has emphasised that the 2026 National March and Flag Hoisting Competition (LKBB-PB) is not merely a competitive arena, but also a means to instil national values in the younger generation.
“My hope is that representatives from 30 provinces come to Jakarta not just to pursue victory, but to embed the values of the MPR RI’s Four Pillars,” Siti Fauziah stated in a briefing in Jakarta on Sunday.
She made these remarks while attending the closing ceremony and winner announcement of the 2026 National LKBB-PB at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday (5/9).
According to Siti, the activity can shape character, discipline, and leadership, while bringing together the younger generation from various regions across Indonesia. She noted that the high enthusiasm of the participants demonstrates that the LKBB-PB has the potential to be further developed as a creative, competitive, and educational tool to bring national values closer to the youth.
“This year has been maximal, but in the future, the competition duration could be extended to two days because it is quite a marathon. I hope that in 2027, the participants can cover all 38 provinces,” she said.
She added that the involvement of participants from various regions not only expands the scope of the competition but also provides a space for students from different regional and cultural backgrounds to meet. Siti believes this experience can build valuable networks and strengthen relationships between young people across different provinces.
“The discipline and the encounter with peers from 29 other provinces can become a valuable friendship network for the participants’ future,” she said. She expressed hope that the networks formed during the activity would continue to grow into capital for the younger generation to build cross-regional collaboration and brotherhood.
Siti also praised the participants’ creativity in developing marching formations and flag hoisting. She noted that participants were able to present complex formations while still adhering to official ceremony protocols.
“We see extraordinary creativity from the participants. They are able to create intricate and interesting formations while remaining within the standard ceremonial guidelines,” she remarked.
Consequently, she welcomed the commitment of the Speaker of the MPR RI, Ahmad Muzani, to maintain and expand the LKBB-PB organisers for 2027. In addition to expanding participation, Siti noted the need for technical evaluations, such as the competition duration, which was deemed too intensive for a single day.
In the 2026 National LKBB-PB MPR RI, SMK Negeri 2 Garut from West Java secured first place. Second place was won by SMA Negeri 1 Kendari from Southeast Sulawesi, while third place went to SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Bun from Central Kalimantan.
Meanwhile, the first runner-up was SMA Negeri 1 Gianyar from Bali, the second runner-up was SMA Negeri 99 Jakarta from Jakarta, and the third runner-up was SMA Negeri 3 Langsa from Aceh.
