MPR RI Encourages Youth to Love the Motherland through Four Pillars Quiz Competition
Present at the event were Acting Secretary General of the MPR Siti Fauziah, Inspector of the MPR Secretariat Inspectorate Anies Mayangsari Muninggar, Head of Press and Inter-Institutional Relations Rosando, Head of Leadership Administration of the MPR Secretariat Kartika Indriati Sekarsari, Head of the South Kalimantan Provincial Education Office Abdul Rahim, and regional judge Muhammad Elmy.
In his remarks, member of the MPR Socialisation Board Habib Zakaria Bahasyim explained that the quiz competition is one method of socialising the MPR’s Four Pillars to students. The Four Pillars MPR Quiz Competition is not merely a competitive event but a tangible expression of the younger generation’s love for the nation and state.
The competition material covers national values such as Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.
“This competition is not just about winning and losing, but also serves as a forum for bonding, honing skills, broadening knowledge, and shaping a generation that not only loves its country but also understands the meaning and responsibilities as citizens,” said Habib Zakaria in a written statement on Saturday (9/5/2026).
Habib Zakaria stressed the importance of Pancasila as the foundation of the state and the unifying ideology that must continue to guide thinking, attitudes, and actions.
He also emphasised the importance of understanding the constitution so that the younger generation has legal awareness and responsibility as citizens.
“The 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia is the constitution that governs national life. Understanding the constitution is essential so that the younger generation has legal awareness and responsibility as citizens,” he said.
Regarding national integrity, Habib Zakaria asserted that the Unitary Republic of Indonesia is non-negotiable and must be safeguarded together amid Indonesia’s diverse society.
“Differences in ethnicity, religion, race, and culture are the nation’s wealth that must be nurtured in the spirit of unity as taught by Bhinneka Tunggal Ika,” he stated.
He also highlighted the challenges faced by the current younger generation, particularly Generation Z and Generation Alpha, who live amid technological disruptions.
“Therefore, the values of the Four Pillars are very important to understand and practise together so that the younger generation has a strong foundation of character and nationality,” he said.
Habib Zakaria invited all participants to uphold sportsmanship during the competition and hoped the event would bring benefits to all participants and the community.
“Let us uphold sportsmanship and may this event run smoothly and bring benefits to us all,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Abdul Rahim expressed his support for the implementation of the Four Pillars MPR Quiz Competition at the South Kalimantan provincial level as an effort to strengthen national insight and the character of the younger generation.
According to him, the MPR’s Four Pillars—Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika—are the main foundation in maintaining national unity and integrity.
“This event is not merely a competitive arena but an important momentum to strengthen noble national values among students,” he said.
He also conveyed appreciation to the MPR RI for initiating and organising the event in South Kalimantan. According to him, strengthening national insight is very important amid the changing times and the rapid flow of information that has the potential to trigger division.
“In the midst of the changing dynamics of the era and the rapid development of technology, we must hold even more firmly to the pillars of nationality,” he stated.
In addition, Abdul Rahim expressed pride in all the competition participants who have been selected to represent their respective schools. He hoped the participants would be role models in upholding values of unity, tolerance, and love for the motherland.
“You are the nation’s successor generation who are expected to be role models in upholding values of unity, tolerance, and love for the motherland,” he said.
Abdul Rahim advised all participants to continue spreading the spirit of nationality in their school and community environments.
“I hope that synergy between local government, MPR RI, schools, and educators can continue to be established to produce a younger generation of South Kalimantan that is intelligent, characterful, and loves the motherland,” he concluded.
For information, the nine schools participating in this competition are MAN 3 Tapin, MAS Al-Kautsar Satiung, SMAN 2 Banjarbaru, SMAN 7 Banjarmasin, MAN 5 Banjar, SMAN 2 Banjarmasin, MAS Nurhidayah, MAN 2 Hulu Sungai Utara, and SMAN 1 Kandangan.
