Advocate David Tobing is suing the MPR, two judges, and the master of ceremony (MC) of the Four Pillars Quiz Competition in West Kalimantan following widespread public criticism. The plaintiff considers the defendants to have committed unlawful acts that harmed several parties.

“Yes, the actions of the judges and moderator were incorrect, which is why, as a citizen, I have the right to correct this, one of which is through a lawsuit at the Central Jakarta District Court with Register Code: JKT.PST-12052026HYC dated 12 May 2026,” David said in his statement on Wednesday (13/5/2026).

David assesses that the defendants violated Article 1365 of the Civil Code. David stated that the judges and MC were careless and disregarded professionalism.

“Every unlawful act that causes harm to another person obliges the person whose fault caused the harm to compensate for that loss,” David said.

“It is very clear that these judges and MC were not careful, contrary to professionalism, thus causing injustice in the Quiz Competition, so they deserve to be punished by the court,” he added.

In his lawsuit, David considers the defendants to have committed unlawful acts. David wants MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani to dishonourably dismiss judges Dyastasita and Indri Wahyuni.

“Ordering Defendant I (H. Ahmad Muzani as Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly) to dishonourably dismiss Defendant II (Dyastasita Widya Budi, S.Sos.) and Defendant III (Indri Wahyuni, S.I.P., M.A.) as employees of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia,” David said.

“Ordering Defendant IV (Shindy Luthfiana) to be prohibited from being a host at official state events, both at the regional, central, and national levels,” he added.

In addition, David also requests that the two judges issue apologies to the public. The defendants are asked to pay all court costs.

“Ordering Defendant II (Dyastasita Widya Budi, S.Sos.), Defendant III (Indri Wahyuni, S.I.P., M.A.), and Defendant IV (Shindy Luthfiana) to apologise in three national print newspapers in half-page size. Ordering the Defendants to pay all these court costs,” he said.

When asked for a separate response, MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani assessed that his side would delve into the lawsuit.

“I haven’t heard about it yet. Well, we’ll see what is being sued and what the core problem is,” Muzani said at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/5).
