MPR Opens Marching and Flag Hoisting Competition in Central Kalimantan
The Inspector of the MPR RI Secretariat General, Anies Mayangsari Muninggar, officially opened the 2026 Central Kalimantan Provincial Level Marching and Flag Hoisting Competition (LKBB-PB) at the Central Kalimantan Governor’s Office courtyard in Palangka Raya today. The competition, a collaborative effort between the MPR RI, the Indonesian Paskibraka Alumni (PPI), and the Central Kalimantan Provincial Education Office, involves ten senior high schools from across the province.
Participants demonstrated their skills, discipline, and synchronicity in marching and flag hoisting before a judging panel comprising members of the National Police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the PPI. The provincial winner will represent Central Kalimantan at the national level in Jakarta, held in conjunction with the Constitution Day commemorations.
In her opening remarks, Anies Mayangsari emphasised that the LKBB-PB is more than just a competition; it serves as a vehicle for character building among Central Kalimantan’s youth. She noted that the discipline and precision shown reflect the ‘Isen Mulang’ spirit—a noble motto of the Dayak Ngaju people meaning ‘never retreat and always move forward’.
Anies stated that this spirit aligns with the local values of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) and ‘handep’ (mutual assistance), as well as the importance of unity amidst the diversity of the Dayak, Malay, and Banjar ethnic groups. She further linked these local traditions to the Four Pillars of the MPR RI: Pancasila as the state ideology, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity).
‘Through activities such as marching competitions, Isen Mulang cultural festivals, and the socialisation of the Four Pillars, we can effectively internalise these values in the younger generation,’ Anies remarked. She reminded participants that true victory lies not in winning trophies, but in becoming agents of national unity.
Representing the Acting Regional Secretary of Central Kalimantan, Dr Linae Victoria Aden, via Governor’s Expert Staff Darliansjah, expressed appreciation to the MPR RI and PPI for organising the event. He highlighted four essential values for the students: attitude (respect and teamwork), mindset (resilience and a will to learn), character (responsibility and integrity), and discipline (adherence to rules and punctuality).
The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including representatives from the Central Kalimantan Regional Police Brimob, the Regional Military Command (Kodam XXII/Tambun Bungai), and various provincial government agencies.
