MPR Member Proposes Rerun of Four Pillars Quiz Competition in West Kalimantan
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - MPR member Hetifah Sjaifudian is urging that the Four Pillars of the MPR RI Quiz Competition at the West Kalimantan provincial level be held again to ensure it runs fairly.
Hetifah expressed her concern over the polemic that occurred during the implementation of the Four Pillars Quiz Competition at the West Kalimantan provincial level.
“To make this run fairly, we are pushing for the event in West Kalimantan specifically to conduct a rerun of the competition,” said Hetifah at the Senayan Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
The Chair of Commission X of the DPR appreciated the enthusiasm of the students participating in the quiz competition.
“I also see that in all regions, including in my electoral district in East Kalimantan, the children are all very enthusiastic and competing seriously, and of course, it is hoped that the entire process runs fairly,” said Hetifah.
This Golkar Party politician also conveyed an apology for the polemic.
“I hope this incident does not reduce the interest and enthusiasm of all my children to continue participating in activities carried out by the MPR RI,” said Hetifah.
She is optimistic that the MPR RI will make improvements and enhancements to the governance of the event so that the Four Pillars Quiz Competition remains a credible and proud educational forum for students throughout Indonesia.
It was previously reported that the polemic over the judging in the Final of the Four Pillars MPR RI Quiz Competition 2026 at the West Kalimantan provincial level led to a comprehensive evaluation and an apology from the MPR RI leadership.
The controversy began when the final of the Four Pillars Quiz Competition at the West Kalimantan level was held in Pontianak on Saturday (9/5/2026). The event was participated in by nine upper secondary schools in West Kalimantan.
The issue arose during the answer buzzer session with the question: In selecting BPK members, the DPR must consider input from which institution?
Team C from SMAN 1 Pontianak was the first participant to answer.
