MPR Member Opens Four Pillars Quiz in NTB to Foster National Spirit

Member of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) from the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) for the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) electoral district, Evi Apita Maya, opened the 2026 Four Pillars Quiz Competition (LCC Empat Pilar MPR) in Mataram City. The opening ceremony was marked by the beating of a Kendang Belek traditional drum. In her remarks, Evi reminded participants that the LCC Empat Pilar MPR is not merely a competition, but also a means to foster a spirit of nationalism, understand the nation’s noble values, and apply them in daily life. “The winner will compete against champions from all provinces in the grand final in Jakarta this August, further strengthening the spirit of nationalism at the national level,” Evi stated on Monday (22/6/2026). Nine senior high schools are participating in the NTB provincial competition. The schools are SMAN 4 Sumbawa, SMAN 1 Madapangga, SMAN 1 Sumbawa Besar, MAN 1 Lombok Timur, SMAN 1 Aikmel, SMAN 1 Seteluk, SMAN 1 Dompu, SMAN 1 Mataram, and SMAN 1 Praya. The judges for the competition are lecturers from the University of Mataram (UNRAM), including I Nengah Agus Tripayana, Khairul Umam, and Bagdawansyah Alqadri. The LCC Empat Pilar MPR RI in NTB marks a long-standing effort to ground the values of Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika among the younger generation. Evi reminded participants that they are not just contestants, but also ambassadors of the nation. She added that they are the thinkers who will lead Indonesia in the future. According to Evi, as future leaders, the younger generation will face more complex challenges than previous generations. Therefore, they must equip themselves with intelligence and creativity. “Your presence here shows that you have a fighting spirit. This is a success not only in terms of academic achievement, but also a challenge of strong character, social awareness, and commitment to building a better and sovereign Indonesia,” Evi said. For Evi, the LCC is not just a competition to find a winner, but a platform to internalise the values of the four pillars, which serve as the foundation supporting the nation’s continuity. She advised participants to study their meaning, understand their essence, and make the four pillars a moral compass in every step of life. “When you understand and practice these values, you become not only excellent individuals but also responsible citizens. So, make this competition a momentum to grow, learn, discover your strengths, and hone your potential,” Evi said. “The LCC is a means of national political education aimed at instilling character, strengthening the spirit of nationalism, and equipping the younger generation with a solid understanding of the MPR RI’s four pillars,” she continued. The opening procession of the LCC Empat Pilar also featured a performance by five female dancers from the Jurigellangen Mataram studio, NTB, led by Putu Anggreini. They performed the Asih Trisna dance with dynamic and synchronised movements that drew admiration. Asih Trisna is a new creative dance from Lombok, NTB, which depicts love, kindness, sincerity, and honesty. The dance was presented to remind participants to compete with spirit, honesty, and to maintain love among themselves. Evi was accompanied at the event by the Head of the NTB Education, Youth, and Sports Office (Kadisdikpora), Dr Syamsul Hadi.
