MPR: LKBB-PB serves as a platform for shaping the character of the younger generation
Every firm step, every decisive command, and every gallant waving of the Red and White flag reflects the spirit of ‘Isen Mulang’, the noble motto of the Dayak Ngaju people, which signifies never giving up and moving forward.
Anies Mayangsari Muninggar, Inspector of the MPR RI Secretariat General, stated that the Marching and Flag Hoisting Creative Competition (LKBB-PB) serves as a vehicle for shaping the character of the younger generation. Speaking in Jakarta on Sunday, Anies noted that through marching and flag hoisting, participants—comprising high school and vocational school students—are practising values of discipline, loyalty to the state, unity, and mutual cooperation (gotong royong).
While opening the 2026 LKBB-PB for the Central Kalimantan Province in Palangkaraya on Saturday, Anies encouraged the youth to use the competition as a momentum to maintain unity amidst diversity. According to her, the spirit of the ancestral motto aligns with the noble values of Central Kalimantan, namely mutual cooperation, unity, and diversity among the Dayak, Malay, and Banjar ethnic groups, as well as local wisdom in preserving nature and the environment.
“These local values are further strengthened and emphasised by the Four Pillars of the MPR RI,” she said. Anies added that activities ranging from marching competitions to cultural festivals can serve as effective instruments to internalise the ‘Isen Mulang’ spirit within the younger generation.
“Through activities filled with enthusiasm, discipline, and cohesion, we are not only training the physical self but also instilling a national character rooted in local wisdom. Through these enjoyable activities, national values can be more easily understood and practised by the youth,” she remarked.
The first-place winner at the provincial level will represent Central Kalimantan Province in the national-level LKBB-PB in Jakarta, held in conjunction with the Constitution Day commemorations. Anies further reminded participants that true victory is not about winning, but about fostering a strong spirit to become agents of national unity.
“True victory is when you bring home the spirit of Isen Mulang, the soul of mutual cooperation, and a strong commitment to the Four Pillars of the MPR RI. Become a young generation that never gives up in maintaining national unity, protecting the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and advancing this land of Bumi Tambun Bungue and Bumi Pancasila,” Anies concluded.
