MPR Leader: Survey Proves Prabowo's Achievements in the Middle East

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of the MPR RI, Eddy Soeparno, considers the high public satisfaction and trust in President Prabowo Subianto’s performance amid Middle East unrest as a special achievement.

Results from a Poltracking Indonesia survey conducted from 2-8 March 2026 indicate that 75.1 percent of the public trust the government of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

“High public satisfaction amid Middle East unrest and threats of energy shortages as well as pressure on our state budget is a special achievement. This Poltracking survey shows that President Prabowo’s leadership is able to face this situation while prioritising national interests,” said Eddy in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

He also expressed appreciation for President Prabowo’s diplomatic strategy, which prioritises strengthening Indonesia’s economy in various overseas visits.

“Most recently, he succeeded in establishing cooperation with Russia in efforts to meet national energy needs. This is the right step to ensure Indonesia enters a safe zone for its energy requirements,” he stated.

On the other hand, Eddy continues to push for accelerating the transition to renewable energy as an effort to achieve energy resilience.

For Eddy, with or without a crisis in the Middle East, Indonesia must continue to strengthen energy resilience and significantly reduce dependence on energy imports.

“We in the MPR RI continue to support President Prabowo’s various commitments to expand the renewable energy mix through various policy plans. With renewable energy, we will significantly reduce dependence on energy imports on one side, and on the other side create clean energy and fulfil the public’s right to a healthy living environment,” he said.
