MPR Invites Prabowo to Attend Constitution Day and MPR Anniversary Commemoration

Jakarta - The Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI), Ahmad Muzani, stated that the MPR leadership has invited President Prabowo Subianto to attend the commemoration of Constitution Day and the MPR’s Anniversary, scheduled for 29 August 2026. Muzani said the invitation was conveyed directly during a meeting between the MPR leadership and President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Monday. “We invited the President to attend the Constitution Day commemoration, which falls on 18 August, as well as the MPR Anniversary, which falls on 29 August. These two important events will be combined and are planned to be held on 29 August,” Muzani said in a statement at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Monday. He explained that the meeting with President Prabowo was not only aimed at delivering the invitation but also served as part of national silaturahmi and consultation between state institution leaders. Additionally, Muzani said the MPR leadership also invited President Prabowo to attend the 2026 MPR Annual Session, scheduled for Friday, 14 August 2026. During the session, President Prabowo will deliver an annual report on the performance of state institutions before the MPR Session. “Our arrival today is to invite the President of the Republic of Indonesia as Head of State to deliver the annual report on the performance of state institutions, which will be presented by the President before the People’s Consultative Assembly Session,” he said. According to him, this series of agendas is an important part of implementing the MPR’s constitutional functions as well as a momentum to strengthen communication and synergy between state institutions.
