MPR: IndonesiaRaya Fund Strengthens National Cultural Ecosystem
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of the MPR RI, Lestari Mordijat, stated that the transformation of the Indonesiana Fund into the IndonesiaRaya Fund is a strategic step in strengthening the national cultural ecosystem. According to her, this programme represents the government’s commitment not only to providing funding but also to building adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable governance in the national cultural sector. “Appreciation for the launch of the IndonesiaRaya Fund programme,” said Lestari in her statement in Jakarta on Tuesday. Based on data obtained from the Ministry of Culture, the number of beneficiaries of the IndonesiaRaya Fund programme increased from 346 people in 2024 to 2,117 people in 2025 from around 7,000 proposals received. This year, until 31 March 2026, the total recipients reached 3,036 people with a disbursement value of Rp594 billion. According to Lestari, the surge in the number of IndonesiaRaya Fund beneficiaries over the past year proves that the needs of cultural actors are very significant. She said that Indonesia has strong capital in developing national culture, as seen from the total disbursement of the IndonesiaRaya Fund until March 2026 reaching Rp594 billion and the current Culture Endowment Fund amounting to Rp6 trillion. Therefore, Lestari said that several strengthening steps for the socialisation of the IndonesiaRaya Fund programme are needed to reach all cultural enthusiasts across the country. “Socialisation must be massive and reach grassroots communities. Do not let such a good programme be known only to a handful of people,” she said. She continued that the Ministry of Culture needs to collaborate with strategic partners such as Culture Preservation Agencies and local governments. Lestari also invited cultural enthusiasts, artists, culture-based creative industry players, and indigenous communities to immediately take advantage of the opportunities in the IndonesiaRaya Fund programme. “Utilise this programme to enliven culture in your respective regions. This is the time for us to work together to advance Indonesian culture,” she said. The IndonesiaRaya Fund is a continuation of the Utilisation Programme of the Culture Endowment Fund Management Results, which has been running and providing real impacts to the cultural ecosystem in Indonesia. This name change is not merely symbolic but also reflects strengthened governance, expanded programme coverage, and improved service quality to cultural actors. Minister of Culture Fadli Zon launched the IndonesiaRaya Fund programme as a transformation from the Indonesiana Fund at Building A of the Ministry of Culture Complex, Jakarta, on Thursday (2/4).
