MPR Hopes Four Pillars Quiz in Central Kalimantan Produces Intelligent Generation with Integrity
MPR member from the Regional Representative Council (DPD) group, Habib Said Abdurrahman, stated that the MPR’s Four Pillars Quiz (LCC) is a socialisation method designed to instil national values in the younger generation through an educational competition format. “This competition not only tests participants’ knowledge of Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, but also trains reasoning power, sharpness of thought, and the ability to cooperate in a healthy competitive atmosphere,” Habib Said explained in a written statement on Saturday (13/6/2026). He emphasised that the activity serves as a learning platform as well as a means of character building so that participants grow into a generation that is intelligent, has integrity, and possesses a strong commitment to national unity. He made these remarks while officially opening the 2026 MPR Four Pillars Quiz at the provincial level for Central Kalimantan at the Kalawa Convention Hall in Palangka Raya. The event, part of the MPR’s Four Pillars Socialisation method, was attended by Acting Secretary General of the MPR Siti Fauziah and her staff, representatives from the Central Kalimantan Provincial Education Office, and representatives from the DPD RI Central Kalimantan Office. Nine schools are participating in this provincial-level competition: SMAN 2 Sampit, SMAN 2 Danau Sembuluh, SMAN 1 Pangkalan Bun, SMAN 1 Dusun Tengah, SMAN 2 Katingan Kuala, SMAN 1 Kuala Kurun, SMAN 1 Buntok, MAN Barito Utara, and SMAN 3 Palangka Raya. The winner will represent Central Kalimantan at the national Grand Final of the 2026 MPR Four Pillars Quiz. Habib Said expressed appreciation to all parties involved in organising the event, from the Central Kalimantan Provincial Education Office, school principals, supervising teachers, the jury panel, to the organising committee. He also explained that this year’s Four Pillars Quiz implementation experienced a delay of about three weeks. However, the postponement was part of an evaluation and system improvement process to enhance the quality of the competition from both technical and substantive aspects. Habib Said revealed that the nine schools competing at the provincial level were the result of an open online selection process followed by 129 schools from various regencies and cities in Central Kalimantan. According to him, this selection mechanism demonstrates the organisers’ commitment to applying the principles of openness, objectivity, and equal opportunity for all participants. “This selection process not only affirms openness and transparency but also presents a representation of excellent young people, ready to compete with a spirit of nationalism and love for the country,” he said. He added that the participants who qualified represent the best of the younger generation who have passed a rigorous selection process. Therefore, their participation is not solely to achieve victory, but also a manifestation of love for the nation and state. Habib Said assessed that understanding the Four Pillars of the MPR is increasingly important amidst the rapid development of technology and the flow of information faced by Generation Z and Generation Alpha today. Pancasila, he continued, must remain a guide in thinking, behaving, and acting. Meanwhile, understanding the 1945 Constitution is important for building legal awareness and responsibility as citizens. Furthermore, the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia must be maintained together, while the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika serves as the foundation for preserving the diversity of ethnicity, religion, race, and culture in Indonesia. “We hope that through this activity, a generation of successors will emerge who are intelligent, have character, integrity, and a high national spirit,” he concluded.
