MPR hopes Four Pillars quiz finalists become future national leaders
Jakarta (ANTARA) - People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Speaker Ahmad Muzani has expressed hope that participants in the 2026 National Four Pillars MPR Quiz Competition will one day become the generation that fills parliamentary seats and carries out constitutional duties as national leaders.
Speaking at the opening of the final round series at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Sunday (23/8), Muzani said the participants are not only being prepared to become competition champions, but also future leaders who understand the constitution and national values.
“I hold great hope that among these participants will be those who one day sit in this chamber as MPR leaders or members who inaugurate the next President of the Republic of Indonesia,” Muzani said, according to a written statement in Jakarta on Monday.
The final round was attended by 38 of the best schools from all provinces in Indonesia after passing tiered selection from the district/city to provincial level.
The 38 finalist schools will compete for the national champion title. The grand final will be held on Wednesday (26/8) after all participants complete six preliminary rounds.
Muzani said the Four Pillars Quiz Competition is part of efforts to instil the values of Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika in the younger generation.
“We do not merely want to produce competition champions; we want to produce cadres of national leaders who understand the constitution deeply,” he said.
In addition, Muzani asked participants to use the event as a means of building networks among students from various backgrounds.
He added that the diversity of participants’ origins is an asset for strengthening unity among young people.
Muzani also reminded participants to become role models for those around them after the competition ends.
“Keep reading, learning, discussing, and asking questions. This competition will end, but the learning process must not stop in the pursuit of truth and shared wisdom,” he said.
