MPR Delivers Annual Session Invitation to Prabowo

The leadership of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) met with President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace on Monday (3/8) to deliver an invitation to the MPR Annual Session, scheduled to take place on Friday, 14 August 2026. MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani stated that the meeting was part of a national engagement initiative conducted by the MPR with various state institutions. The primary agenda of the visit was to hand over the invitation to the President for the annual session. “Today, the MPR leadership will meet with the President as part of the national engagement we are conducting with several state institutions. Our visit today is to invite the President to the MPR Annual Session, which is planned to be held on Friday, 14 August,” Muzani told reporters at the Presidential Palace. Muzani explained that the meeting with Prabowo solely discussed MPR matters. When asked whether the MPR leadership would also be involved in welcoming state guests, he confirmed that the visit was specifically for MPR business. Regarding the execution of this year’s MPR Annual Session, Muzani did not disclose whether there would be any differences compared to previous years. He simply asked the public to await the session. In addition to inviting Prabowo, the MPR will also invite all former presidents and vice presidents to attend the MPR Annual Session. Furthermore, all chairpersons of political parties are also on the invitation list. “All former presidents and vice presidents are invited, including political party chairpersons,” said Muzani.
