MPR: Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia Strengthens Nation's Bargaining Position in Global Trade

Jakarta (ANTARA) - People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Chairman Ahmad Muzani believes the establishment of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) strengthens the country’s bargaining position in global trade.

In addition, he said, DSI is present to increase state revenue, strengthen the management of export proceeds (DHE), and prevent underinvoicing and transfer pricing practices or fraudulent practices carried out under the table.

“We are witnessing how the government is taking a policy on one-door export governance through DSI,” Muzani said while delivering his introductory speech at the 2026 MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD RI at the parliamentary complex, Jakarta, Friday.

Muzani said Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution explicitly mandates that “The land, waters, and natural resources contained therein shall be controlled by the state and used for the greatest prosperity of the people.”

According to him, this mandate is then strategically elaborated through MPR Decree Number IX/MPR/2001 on Agrarian Reform and Natural Resource Management.

Therefore, he said, the management of Indonesia’s natural resources must be based on justice, sustainability, and ecological preservation.

On Friday, the MPR RI, DPR RI, and DPD RI held the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR RI-DPD RI.

One of the agendas was President Prabowo Subianto’s speech for the delivery of the Performance Report of State Institutions and the State Address of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

In addition to the speech, the government will also screen a video of government performance achievements.

This annual session is a state agenda to welcome the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, which carries the theme “Indonesia Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous”.
