Buleleng, Bali (ANTARA) - The Chairman of the MPR RI, Ahmad Muzani, promoted the spirit of tolerance and unity among students at the Hindu State Institute (IAHN) Mpu Kuturan Bali as an effort to create a generation with strong character for Indonesia’s future.

“In the future, when Indonesia celebrates its 100th independence anniversary, you (students) will be the leaders of this nation,” said Ahmad Muzani while delivering a National Public Lecture at the Open Stage of IAHN Mpu Kuturan in Singaraja City, Buleleng Regency, Bali, on Friday.

He invited all elements of society, especially young people, to work together to build a glorious nation with the spirit of unity, the values of Pancasila, and national insight for the younger generation towards Indonesia’s Golden Age 2045.

Muzani encouraged the academic community of one of the state universities in northern Bali to be proud to be under the auspices of the Mpu Kuturan Singaraja Institute.

According to him, the use of the name of a great Mpu who lived during the Udayana Kingdom should be a spirit in maintaining the harmony that has existed since ancient times. “Spirituality should not destroy brotherhood. Until now, the spirit of brotherhood is still quite strong,” he said.

“Currently, our problem is how young people can afford to eat and study. In this kind of living situation, it is not easy. The war has made necessities difficult, and the whole world feels it,” he said.

Therefore, Ahmad Muzani believes that the younger generation must have independence and resilience in facing various global challenges. “I am sure that the people of Bali have good innovation skills, good artistic skills, and are proven in the field of art,” he said.

Muzani continued, based on a survey conducted in mid-March 2026, about 98 percent of Indonesian people are proud of their Indonesian identity. Of that number, 73 percent said they were ready to defend the country. In addition, about 92 percent of the population understands Pancasila as the basis of the state.

Meanwhile, the Rector of IAHN Mpu Kuturan, I Gede Suwindia, explained that the national public lecture from the Chairman of the MPR RI is a momentum to strengthen the campus’s commitment to instilling national insight, character, and the spirit of unity through the world of education.

With the spirit of Indonesia’s Golden Age 2045, IMK believes that today’s young generation will be a great force for the future of a superior, harmonious, and competitive nation.

“We are very happy that the Chairman of the MPR RI has graced us with his presence among the IMK community to strengthen the spirit of togetherness,” said Prof. Suwindia in his speech.

Suwindia continued, currently IMK is continuously improving its services, especially in the field of facilities and infrastructure. One of them is through the construction of the Postgraduate Building on Jalan Kresna, Singaraja.

“We are currently building a postgraduate building. The completion of the building is now in the second stage, but it cannot be finalized due to budget constraints,” he added.
