MPR Chairman Opens Four Pillars LCC in East Java, Delivers These 5 Messages to Participants
The Chairman of the MPR RI, Ahmad Muzani, officially opened the 2026 Four Pillars MPR Smart Quiz Competition at the provincial level in East Java in Surabaya, East Java, today. The event is organised to train courage, thinking skills, and mastery of national materials for participants, who are mostly high school students.
“It is not about winning or losing, but about your courage to represent your regions and master the material you have studied,” said Ahmad Muzani in a written statement on Saturday (18/4/2026).
According to him, Indonesia’s future requires a generation that is not only intelligent but also creative, innovative, moral, and responsible. Therefore, he conveyed five important messages to the participants.
First, become guardians of Pancasila. Muzani emphasised that Pancasila is the main foundation of the nation that cannot be separated from Indonesia’s existence.
“Without Pancasila, there is no Indonesia. There is no Indonesia without Pancasila,” he asserted.
He also reminded that understanding Pancasila is not enough to just memorise it. Understanding Pancasila must be embodied in daily attitudes and behaviour.
Second, respect the constitution and safeguard democracy by making the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia the guideline in state life. Then, third, Muzani invited the young generation to continue nurturing unity amid diversity.
“We are one, but we are different. We are different, but we aim for one,” he said.
Fourth, Muzani advised participants to become a moral digital generation. He highlighted the importance of using technology, especially gadgets, wisely so as not to damage unity, but to strengthen creativity and togetherness.
Fifth, dare to dream and work hard to achieve it. Muzani views the high school phase as an important stage towards a greater future.
“Daring to dream and striving hard is the key to achieving the future,” he stated.
Furthermore, Muzani hopes that by 2045, when Indonesia enters its 100th year, the current participants will have become great figures in various fields.
He also invited all participants to become beneficial individuals, at least for their immediate environment.
“If you cannot benefit the environment, become someone who benefits the family. If unable, at least do not trouble anyone,” he explained.
Meanwhile, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa expressed appreciation for the organisation of the 2026 Four Pillars MPR Smart Quiz Competition at the provincial level in East Java. She also emphasised the importance of strengthening national values for the young generation.
Khofifah also said that the Four Pillars Smart Quiz is part of an ideological investment to prepare successor generations towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
“This is a very important ideological investment for the sustainability of the Indonesian nation,” she stated.
Furthermore, Khofifah emphasised the importance of the current young generation holding a strategic role amid globalisation challenges, technological disruption, and the rapid flow of information. Therefore, understanding the Four Pillars of Nationalism must become the main foundation.
“These Four Pillars of Nationalism are not just to be memorised, but to be lived in attitudes, actions, and every decision,” she asserted.
The East Java Provincial Government, she continued, continues to strive to build superior and characterful human resources through various programmes. According to her, this includes strengthening character education, digital literacy, and cross-cultural dialogue.
The Four Pillars MPR Smart Quiz is expected to produce a young generation that is not only academically intelligent but also characterful, ideological, and has a strong national spirit.
“We believe that intelligence without character will be fragile, while intelligence rooted in national values will produce solid and sustainable leadership,” she stated.
