MPR Chairman Attends Haul at Darussalam Pesantren in Magelang, Urges Prayers for Indonesia's Continued Safety
MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani attended the haul at Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Timur Watucongol in Magelang, Central Java. He urged residents to pray for Indonesia to remain safe amid the wars occurring in West Asia.
The haul event was held at Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Timur Watucongol in Magelang on Monday (6/4/2026). The event was also attended by Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi.
Muzani initially expressed thanks to Luthfi, the Regent, village head, TNI, Polri, kiai, ulama, and residents in attendance. He invited all present to always pray for the good of the Indonesian nation.
“In the world today, wars are happening. Right, Ma’am? (Right) The war between Iran, America, and Israel. Indonesia is in a safe condition, Indonesia is in a peaceful state. We all pray that our country is protected from disasters and dangers,” said Muzani.
He stated that the war initiated by the US-Israel against Iran impacts the entire world. He said the impact of the war in that region could also reach Indonesia.
“Even so, you must know, Ma’am, the war in Iran between America and Israel, but it is a calamity for Indonesia, a calamity for the whole world. Thousands of kilometres away, the war is there from this point, but the danger can reach Indonesia and it can become a calamity and disaster,” he explained.
Muzani gave examples of Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, up to Vietnam, which have raised fuel prices because the Strait of Hormuz was closed by Iran during the war. He urged residents to be grateful that fuel prices in Indonesia have not yet risen.
“If fuel prices rise, then the prices of basic necessities will rise. If that happens, then all the mothers will be troubled. (Right) Be grateful and thankful that to this day the government has not raised fuel prices. Hopefully, fuel prices will not rise henceforth,” he said.
“Therefore, mothers and fathers, pray that we all remain in harmony, peaceful, and at peace, so that the government can continue to make decisions that favour the people. We pray that the blessings of Mbah Dalhar continue to shower the Indonesian nation,” he concluded.
