Banyumas (ANTARA) - MPR RI Chairman Ahmad Muzani has appreciated the strengthening of the creative economy being developed in Banyumas Regency, Central Java, as an effort to promote community self-reliance and empowerment based on local potentials.

“This is good because in the long term it will create public awareness of ways to enhance success and potentials that can become shared benefits,” he said after inaugurating a vegetable alms board, followed by a visit to the Ethos Digital Valley area in Gewok Hamlet, Karanggintung Village, Sumbang Subdistrict, Banyumas, on Sunday.

He assessed that the development of the creative economy involving local communities is a strategic step because it is not only oriented towards economic growth but also builds collective awareness in utilising opportunities sustainably.

According to him, collaboration between the community, business actors, and the utilisation of technology is key to creating an inclusive creative economy ecosystem at the village level.

Meanwhile, Chairman of PT Ethos Kreatif Indonesia, Mukit Hendrayatno, said that the Ethos Digital Valley area was built on approximately two hectares of land that was previously a garden and is now being developed into a centre for creative economic activities.

“In the middle of this area, there is a management building to manage around 1,400 young people, with 85 percent of them being Generation Z involved in the creative industry,” he said.

In addition, he said, the area is also equipped with community interaction spaces, a historic pendopo from the Surakarta Palace, as well as plans to build a mosque and a technology incubation centre to support human resource development.

He said that the development of the area adopts a people’s economy concept by involving farmers, livestock breeders, and digital technology support.

His party has established strategic partnerships with global companies such as Meta and TikTok to expand market access and increase the competitiveness of local creative products.

On the other hand, he continued, the vegetable alms board programme initiated by the Yayasan Rintisan Amal Bunda (a charity institution managed by Ethos Group) is part of the social approach in that ecosystem, with distribution reaching around 31,000 beneficiaries.

Mukit hopes that the integration between the creative economy and such social activities can provide sustainable impacts for the community, particularly in strengthening economic resilience and the welfare of village residents.
