The People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) has apologised regarding the controversy over the Four Pillars MPR RI Quiz Competition 2026 at the West Kalimantan provincial level. The MPR has deactivated the jury and the host or MC of that quiz competition event.

“MPR RI, through the MPR RI General Secretariat, conveys an apology for the negligence of the judging panel that caused the controversy related to the implementation of the Four Pillars MPR RI Quiz Competition (LCC) in West Kalimantan Province,” stated the MPR on its official Instagram account on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

The MPR stated that the quiz competition must uphold sportivity and fairness. The MPR emphasised that the judging panel should be objective.

“MPR RI understands that educational and youth development activities, including the Four Pillars LCC, must uphold high values of sportivity, objectivity, fairness, and a constructive learning spirit,” said the MPR.

The MPR has deactivated the judging panel and MC of that quiz event. The MPR will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the activity.

“Regarding the widespread media social reports about the Four Pillars LCC 2026 at the West Kalimantan provincial level, concerning the assessment of participants’ answers in one of the competition sessions, the organising committee from the MPR RI General Secretariat has deactivated the judging panel and MC of this LCC event,” it said.

“MPR RI will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the technical aspects of the competition’s implementation, including the assessment mechanism, participant answer verification system, and handling of objections in the competition, so that future implementations can proceed even better, transparently, and accountably,” it added.

The MPR appreciates the participants, teachers, and the public who have paid attention to the competition activity. The MPR will prioritise public trust.

“In addition, MPR RI also conveys appreciation to all participants, accompanying teachers, local committees, and the public who continue to pay attention to national education and the implementation of the Four Pillars LCC,” stated MPR RI.

MPR Evaluation

MPR RI General Secretary Siti Fauziah said that they respect the public’s attention and input regarding the dynamics in that competition. In a circulating video viewed on Monday (11/5), the judge gave different scores for the same answer from participants. In that competition, Group C from SMAN 1 Pontianak received a minus five score for an answer related to the process of selecting BPK members.

However, a similar answer given by Group B from SMAN 1 Sambas was given a score of 10 by the same judge, namely the Head of the Assessment Bureau of the MPR RI General Secretariat, Dyastasita. Participants from Group C protested, feeling their answer was the same. However, the judge stated that Group C’s answer did not clearly mention the Regional Representative Council (DPD).

Siti mentioned that the organising committee is currently conducting an internal investigation regarding the assessment of participants’ answers. They assure a comprehensive evaluation of the technical aspects of the competition’s implementation.
