Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of Commission VII of the House of Representatives Hendry Munief stated that women have great potential to drive micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Hendry, at the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of Aisyiyah Entrepreneurship School (SWA) in Riau on Saturday (25/4), assessed that women need to be provided with digital literacy support to develop MSMEs. “With the right training and access support, they can become important pillars in realising national economic independence,” Hendry said, quoted from a statement received in Jakarta on Monday. According to him, digitalisation is the main key in expanding markets and increasing the competitiveness of products. In addition, product standardisation is also necessary so that MSMEs can penetrate wider markets, both nationally and internationally. The graduation ceremony of the first cohort of Aisyiyah Entrepreneurship School (SWA) was held by the Economic and Employment Council (MEK) of the Aisyiyah Regional Leadership (PW Aisyiyah) Riau as an important momentum in strengthening the economic capacity of women in that province. Chair of PW Aisyiyah Riau, Hikmani, in her speech, expressed appreciation for the implementation of the Aisyiyah Entrepreneurship School programme. She also emphasised the importance of women’s role in driving family and community economies. “We hope that the graduates will not only become business actors, but also agents of change who can inspire other women to be economically independent,” she said.
