Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Hendry Munief has reminded the public to maintain two key aspects during their mudik journeys: safety and order, to ensure they reach their destinations safely. If conditions are deemed unsuitable for travel, he urged mudik travellers not to push themselves and to rest first, suggesting they utilise the mudik posts along the routes for respite. “We must safeguard two things: safety and order. Return home and come back safely,” said Hendry in a written statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday. He conveyed this during the opening of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Riau mudik post, centred at the Riau-West Sumatra border. He noted that the mudik post is one form of service provided by PKS to the community. Meanwhile, fellow House of Representatives member Syahrul Aidi Maazat, also from the Riau electoral district, stated that PKS opens mudik posts every year to assist those returning to their hometowns. “Providing places to rest, helping with road issues such as accidents, flat tyres, or even running out of fuel,” he said. The post offers necessary facilities, including ambulances and mercy vehicles to anticipate dangerous situations. The post will operate until the peak return flow of Eid 2026 on H+5 after Eid.
