Pamekasan (ANTARA) - A member of the Indonesian House of Representatives’ Commission VIII from Electoral District XI in East Java, Ansari, reminded prospective Hajj pilgrims performing their worship in the Holy Land of Mecca to always uphold the good name of the Indonesian nation and state.

“Indonesian pilgrims are known for being polite and orderly. This must be continuously maintained, because pilgrims worshipping in the Holy Land of Mecca also carry the name of the country we love. Therefore, let us together safeguard Indonesia’s good reputation,” he said at a briefing event held by one of the Hajj Worship Guidance Groups in Pamekasan, East Java, on Thursday.

Ansari emphasised that Hajj worship must be based on a sincere intention solely for Allah SWT. He also reminded the importance of maintaining good conduct during the pilgrimage.

This DPR RI member from Pamekasan Regency also asked pilgrims to remain united and not to wander off alone during the pilgrimage. The role of kloter leaders and officers is considered important in maintaining coordination on the ground.

“If there is damaged luggage, report it immediately so it can be replaced,” he said.

Regarding accommodation, he hopes that in the future, room arrangements can be more ideal, with a capacity of around four to five people per room.

As a partner of the government in the religious sector, Commission VIII of the DPR RI, continued Ansari, will continue to push for improvements in Hajj service quality, including for elderly pilgrims.

Meanwhile, the number of prospective Hajj pilgrims from Pamekasan Regency confirmed to depart for Hajj this season is 1,384 people.

These prospective pilgrims are grouped into four flight clusters, namely kloter 73, 74, 75, and 76, and will depart from Pamekasan on 10 May 2026.

Before departing, these prospective pilgrims will attend a symbolic farewell event by the Pamekasan Regency Government on 5 May 2026 at the As-Syuhada Grand Mosque in Pamekasan.
