MP Rajiv Adds Rp340 Million of Personal Funds to Boost Bandung Home Renovation Programme
Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rajiv, has provided an additional Rp340 million in personal funds to improve the construction quality of 17 homes under the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Programme (BSPS) in Bandung Regency. The extra assistance, amounting to Rp20 million per house, is intended to ensure that residents receive stronger, safer, and more comfortable dwellings.
This commitment was conveyed by Rajiv during an inspection of the BSPS programme alongside Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, and other central and regional officials in Cilampeni Village, Katapang District, Bandung Regency, on Saturday, 25 July 2026. Rajiv stated that a decent home is a basic need that directly impacts the quality of life, and he wants to ensure that government assistance genuinely results in quality housing that can be inhabited for the long term.
“Seeing the happiness of the beneficiary community serves as a reminder that a proper home is not just a physical structure. A good home provides a sense of security, comfort, and new hope for a family,” Rajiv said in a statement on Sunday, 26 July 2026. As a concrete form of support, he decided to add personal funds on top of the government’s existing assistance.
“The government has already provided aid through the BSPS programme. I will also add personal assistance of Rp20 million for each house so that the construction quality is even better and the benefits can be felt optimally,” said the Nasdem Party legislator. The representative for the West Java II electoral district stressed that an MP’s duties are not only to absorb public aspirations and formulate them into policy, but also to oversee the implementation of government programmes to ensure they are right on target.
“As a representative of the people of Bandung Regency, I have a responsibility to ensure that government programmes truly reach the people who need them,” he asserted. Based on data from the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas, Bandung Regency received an allocation of 3,235 BSPS housing units in 2026, spread across 31 sub-districts and 196 villages. This figure represents a significant increase compared to the 2025 allocation, which totalled only 35 units. West Java is the province with the largest national BSPS allocation, with 46,817 housing units.
