MP Kawendra Provides Free Train Journey for 395 Returning Migrant Workers Ahead of Eid 2026
Jakarta — Member of Parliament Kawendra Lukistian has provided free transport for 395 migrant workers departing from Pasar Senen Station in Jakarta bound for Jember and Lumajang in East Java via the Blambangan Express train service. The programme aims to enable migrant workers to return home safely, comfortably and securely ahead of the Eid 2026 celebration whilst maintaining family bonds.
Kawendra emphasised that the free mudik (homecoming) programme represents a manifestation of mutual cooperation and concern for the public, particularly migrant workers seeking to reunite with their families in their hometowns.
“We want to ensure that people can return home safely, comfortably and securely to their destination, whilst strengthening family ties,” Kawendra stated on Monday.
According to him, the spirit of the programme aligns with the national leadership’s vision, which prioritises public welfare as emphasised by President Prabowo Subianto.
“We want people to experience convenience, togetherness and care, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s direction which consistently emphasises concern for the people,” he said.
The Blambangan Express train carrying the homecoming migrants departed at approximately 12:10 WIB from Pasar Senen Station bound for Jember.
Participants in the mudik programme not only received complimentary travel tickets but also received gift packages and vouchers prior to departure. Upon arrival at their destinations, participants were also provided with gift packages to bring home to their hometowns.
