JAKARTA - A member of the DPR’s Commission I, TB Hasanuddin, believes that Indonesia would be wasting its efforts by remaining in the Board of Peace (BoP) established by US President Donald Trump alongside Israel. According to him, Israel is naughty for not adhering to United Nations (UN) resolutions, and Israel’s attacks in Lebanon have also led to the deaths of three TNI soldiers. “We know that Israel is naughty, even disobedient to UN resolutions, even though Israel is also under the UN. So I imagine, if it’s under the BoP led by US President Donald Trump, what would it be like. Therefore, it would be wasteful for us to be in the BoP area,” said TB Hasanuddin at the DPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (1/4/2026). This PDI Perjuangan politician only asked Prabowo to reconsider Indonesia’s position in the BoP. “In my opinion, it should be reconsidered multiple times what the benefits are of being in the BoP, and the possibilities of unwanted things happening,” Hasanuddin stated. “Not to mention in the BoP, it acts according to its own whims even under the UN, it is already disobedient. Rather than us getting into trouble later, especially if we have to send the largest force of 8,000 personnel,” he added. The three soldiers were Private First Class Farizal Rhomadhon, Captain Inf Zulmi Aditya, and Sergeant First Class Muhammad Nur Ichwan. On Sunday (29/3/2026), Private First Class Farizal Rhomadhon was killed while performing the Isha prayer, during an attack between Israel and Hezbollah in the UNIFIL assignment area. In the same incident, three other soldiers, namely Private First Class Rico Pramudia, Private First Class Bayu Prakoso, and Private First Class Arif Kurniawan, were injured. A day later, on Monday (30/3/2026), another incident occurred. At that time, a security team from Company B Task Force Yonmek TNI, which is part of the Sector East Mobile Reserve, was securing a logistics convoy from one post to another in the UNIFIL area. In the middle of the journey, the vehicle carrying Captain Inf Zulmi Aditya, Sergeant First Class Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and two other soldiers suddenly exploded. The explosion was suspected to be from a landmine, accompanied by an armed attack during the evacuation process. In addition to the two soldiers who were killed, several other personnel were also injured, namely Lieutenant Inf Sulthan Wirdean Maulana and Private First Class Deni Rianto.
