MP: Intensify Awareness Campaign on No Furoda Hajj Visas for 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - A member of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives, An’im Falachuddin, has requested that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah intensify awareness campaigns regarding the non-issuance of furoda Hajj visas for 2026. According to An’im in Jakarta on Monday, this step is important to prevent the public from becoming victims of fraud. “The awareness efforts must be strengthened so that the public truly understands that there is no furoda Hajj this year,” he said. An’im also urged the government to take a firm stance in imposing sanctions on parties that continue to offer Hajj departures using furoda visas. “That (offer of furoda Hajj) is clearly misleading and potentially harmful to the public. We ask all prospective Hajj pilgrims to be cautious of all kinds of scams,” he stated. He advised the public not to be tempted by offers of Hajj departures using furoda visas this year. “The decision of the Saudi Arabian Government not to issue furoda Hajj visas must be respected. We urge the public not to be easily swayed by invitations or offers to depart for Hajj this year using furoda visas,” he said. “It is true that the long Hajj queue leads the public to seek alternatives like furoda. But for this year, when that visa is not issued, every furoda Hajj offer must be treated with caution. Do not let the public be deceived by promises of instant Hajj departures,” he added. Previously, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasised that the Saudi Arabian Government is not issuing furoda Hajj visas for this year’s pilgrimage, urging the public to be vigilant if there are offers of departures using such visas. “There are none, so this year Saudi Arabia is not issuing furoda Hajj visas. So clearly, the legal visa is called a Hajj visa,” said Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak. Dahnil stated that the proliferation of offers for queue-free Hajj departures via social media is a practice that must be guarded against, as it potentially constitutes a scam or illegal Hajj modus operandi.
