MP Ensures Management of MBG Kitchen in Sigi Meets Standards
Sigi (ANTARA) - Member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Longki Djanggola has ensured that the management of the kitchen for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, complies with environmental sanitation and health standards through direct field checks on Wednesday.
“This visit is located at the SPPG (Nutritional Fulfilment Service Unit) Kabobona, Sigi Regency, to ensure that the management of the MBG kitchen in the area runs in accordance with environmental sanitation and health standards,” he said in Sigi on Wednesday.
He stated that the MBG programme has provided widespread benefits, particularly for students.
According to him, there needs to be an improvement in maintaining the quality of management to prevent unwanted incidents in the future.
“This programme has already been felt to be beneficial by many parties. However, the management of the SPPG must continue to be monitored, from environmental sanitation, the suitability of raw materials from a health perspective, to other aspects, so that unwanted incidents can be prevented,” he said.
“If there is food that is not suitable or less appropriate, it should be reported through the school principal to the SPPG manager. Do not just post it on social media or shout it out publicly, so that if there are any problems, they can be immediately followed up,” he added.
The Head of SPPG Kabobona, Muhammad Ibrahim, appreciated the visit by Longki Djanggola as a DPR member to Sigi Regency, which can serve as motivation for managers to improve services.
So far, they have continuously coordinated with schools in providing nutritious meals for students.
“We always coordinate with the school side, from planning needs to evaluating implementation in the field,” he said.
A party from one of the beneficiary schools of the MBG programme, namely SMP IT Insan Gemilang in Lolu Village, assessed that the visit can strengthen supervision and improve the quality of MBG programme services in Central Sulawesi.
“It is hoped that President Prabowo Subianto’s flagship programme, MBG, can continue because its benefits have been felt by the students,” said the Chairman of the SMP IT Insan Gemilang Foundation, Citrawan.
