Move to better phone services
JAKARTA (JP): Data inventory for telephone bills of customers
in East Jakarta, which was formerly combined in one system with
those in Bekasi, will be separated in a bid to improve services.
La Ode M. Saleh, head of the East Jakarta office of state-
owned telecommunication company PT Telkom, was quoted by Antara
as saying that the decision was taken in line with the rising
number of new customers in Bekasi.
"The number of customers in both East Jakarta and Bekasi has
reached 600,000." He said the number of customers in East Jakarta
alone reached 360,000.
He said the rapid growth in the number of Bekasi customers
would necessitate the establishment of a new telecommunication
office. (hhr)
