Mountaineers die on Mt. Ciremai

BANDUNG, West Java: Two mountaineers were found dead and two
others were in critical condition on Mount Ciremai in Kuningan,
West Java, over the weekend.

Second Sergeant Haeruddin of the Cilimus police station in
Kuningan identified the dead as Azis and Mulyono, both from
Cirebon, West Java, and the two in a critical condition as Adi
and Cahyo.

He said on Saturday that the victims had been suffering from
extreme fatigue after they, along with 14 others, reached the top
of the 3,087-meter-tall mountain, Antara reported.

The group of youths from Cirebon left on their climbing
expedition on Feb. 27. The survivors managed to complete the
mission and arrived in Cilimus on Saturday. (rms)
