The Mount Geulis area, specifically in Kampung Ciroyom, Pabuaran Village, Sukabumi Regency, has been hit by a fire. At least four hectares of residents’ fields and bamboo forest were destroyed.

The incident occurred on Tuesday (25/8/2026) at around 6.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. Pabuaran Sub-district Disaster Management Officer (P2BK) Yogi explained that the fire spread rapidly due to the abundance of bamboo vegetation and the dry condition of the land.

“Based on information from local residents, a fire broke out in residents’ fields and bamboo forest, causing the burned area to expand to around four hectares. As of now, the fire is still burning,” said Yogi.

Yogi confirmed that there were no fatalities or injuries in the incident. However, the main focus of officers at present is to protect residential areas from the spread of the flames.

Regarding the trigger of the fire, the relevant authorities are still conducting further investigation. “The cause of the incident is still under review,” he added.

At the scene, a joint team consisting of P2BK Pabuaran, the fire brigade, Babinsa, Bhabinkamtibmas, Satpol PP, Tagana, Forkopimcam, and local residents continue to battle the blaze. Additional personnel are considered urgently needed to prevent the fire from reaching residential areas.
