Motorway Toll Discount Increased to 30 Per Cent From Nine Days Before Eid

The Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, has announced that a 30 per cent motorway toll discount will be implemented from nine days before Eid in 2026. “From eight to nine days before, if I recall correctly,” Dody said in Semarang, Central Java, as quoted by Antara on Sunday, 1 March 2026.

According to him, the toll discount will apply across all motorway sections, similar to the 2025 Eid period. “All of them. Just like last year, exactly the same. The only difference is that last year’s toll discount was 20 per cent, now it’s 30 per cent,” he said.

Dody stated that the toll discount aims to reduce traffic congestion before the peak Eid homecoming period. “With this approach, we hope that travellers can return home earlier, and likewise they can also return to the city earlier,” Dody said.

Previously, the government had allocated a budget of 12.83 trillion rupiah for a first-quarter 2026 economic stimulus package that includes transport ticket discounts, motorway toll reductions, and social assistance (bansos).

The stimulus will be provided during the February-March 2026 period.

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, stated that from the total budget, 200 billion rupiah was allocated for transport discounts, whilst social assistance reached approximately 12 trillion rupiah.
