ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, United States (Reuter): Motorola Inc said
Thursday that its International Cellular Infrastructure Division
won a $30 million contract to supply a digital cellular network
system for PT Telkomsel in Indonesia.
It is Motorola's first Global System for Mobile (GSM)
communications contract in Indonesia.
Initially, the system will have the capacity to serve up to
50,000 cellular subscribers in the capital city of Jakarta and
10,000 customers in Bandung and Cirebon.
The multi-phase deployment of the digital cellular network
already is under way in Bandung and Cirebon, where commercial
