Chronology of the Incident

Founder of Albaari Foundation, Musyaffa Kautsar, who was driving the ambulance at the time, said that the office location inside the housing complex meant they were accustomed to not turning on the siren when the ambulance was about to exit. However, he replaced it with the sound of the public address horn and turned on the rotator.

“So we were just about to exit the housing complex, and there we are used to not turning on the siren. The siren is the long one, right. So we didn’t turn that on, only the rotator and also jumper-jumper like tot-tot sounds,” said Musyaffa.

However, according to Musyaffa, the perpetrator did not accept the ambulance’s sound. The perpetrator tried to stop the ambulance and ended up verbally abusing it.

“There, the perpetrator probably didn’t accept the jumper-ing that we did, the short siren sound that we had turned on. In the end, the perpetrator tried to stop us, stop us, and then all sorts of verbal abuse,” he explained.

Musyaffa said he had tried to explain to the perpetrator that the ambulance is a priority vehicle. Whether there is a patient or not, the ambulance is allowed to sound its siren.

“But the perpetrator still insisted that if there is no patient, the ambulance is not allowed to turn on the siren. Actually, it was clear at the first scene,” he revealed.

Then, the perpetrator chased the ambulance again. At that point, continued Musyaffa, the ambulance was kicked and damaged recklessly, along with threatening words from the perpetrator.

“But after the first scene was over, then the perpetrator chased again at the second scene. That’s where the damage occurred, trying to kick-kick and hit all sorts of things to the car part, like that,” he said.
