Motorcyclists Rush Through Gang Fight Near Klender Station

One motorcyclist, Ilham, stated he was at the scene at 6:55 AM WIB. According to a video shared on Instagram account @muhamadigoil, the incident caused traffic congestion in the area, with several motorcyclists recording the event. White smoke rose amid the gang fight. Ilham expressed sympathy for residents whose activities were disrupted by the incident.

Ilham recounted that he and other motorcyclists rushed through the gang fight. Another motorcyclist was hit by a mineral water bottle thrown from the crowd. “The incident occurred before Klender Station, heading from Jakarta to Bekasi. I and others charged through the crowd, with some bottles thrown at riders,” Ilham said when contacted on Monday (25 May 2026).

Some residents stayed at the scene waiting for the crowd to be dispersed, while others turned back. Eventually, the crowd was dispersed after police arrived. “Some remained waiting or turned back; later, police intervened,” he said.

The motorcyclist hit by the mineral water bottle was reported safe. He stated he broke through the crowd with others as a group. “Thank God, the rider hit by the bottle is safe. I checked on him. I’m fine, joined others in breaking through – probably because so many were doing it, so they felt emboldened,” he said.

He admitted breaking through due to almost being late for work. He noted most motorcyclists at the scene attempted to push through traffic. “I rushed through because I was late. At that time, most other vehicles were also moving forward,” he said.

Gang Fight Dispersed

Previously, East Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Kombes Alfian Nurrizal stated the gang fight near Klender Station in East Jakarta had been dispersed this morning. The crowd was dispersed by the Presisi Pioneer Patrol Team of East Jakarta Metropolitan Police together with Patra Brimob personnel. “It has been dispersed by the Presisi Pioneer Patrol Team of East Jakarta Metropolitan Police together with Patra Brimob personnel,” said Kombes Alfian in his statement on Monday (25 May 2026).

Police confirmed the situation is now stable after dispersal. Authorities secured several items suspected to be used in the gang fight.
