Ciwandan Port in Cilegon city began experiencing increased congestion as homebound motorcyclists arrived. Conditions at the port proved significantly more crowded compared to the previous day, or H+2 of Operation Ketupat 2026.

During observations by detikcom at Pelindo Ciwandan Port on Sunday, 15 March 2026 at 08:00 WIB, homebound travellers started queuing in the designated lanes. One lane was observed to be nearly full, accommodating approximately 250 motorcycles.

Additionally, newly arrived motorcyclists were directed to fill the second lane. This situation proved considerably more crowded than Saturday, 14 March. On Saturday morning and afternoon, the first lane contained a maximum of 60 motorcycles.

This congestion of homebound travellers began from Saturday midnight. At that time, motorcyclists began arriving in large numbers and chose to travel during the night hours.

Earlier, Banten Police Chief Inspector General Hengki reported that no congestion had yet occurred at the three ports serving homebound travellers in Banten. According to him, officers remained able to manage the situation.

“That monitoring from last night until this afternoon in general, whether at Bandar Bakau Jaya Port, Bojonegara, which carries logistical vehicles with three axles, categories 7, 8, and 9; including at Merak Port itself; including at Ciwandan Port, Pelindo 2 Ciwandan, in general conditions remain safe and flowing,” he stated on Saturday, 15 March 2026.

Hengki mentioned that some truck queuing occurred on Jalan Lingkar Selatan (JLS). He explained that this truck queue was not congestion but rather vehicles waiting to enter Ciwandan Port.

“As for Jalan Lingkar Selatan (JLS), there are category 5 and 6B vehicles there, they are waiting, that is not congestion. Not congestion. Waiting in queue to board the vessel,” he said.

Hengki stressed that no traffic congestion had occurred heading towards the ports. Officers in the field remained able to manage the situation.

“So there is no traffic congestion in Banten Police jurisdiction up to today, everything is flowing,” he stated.
