Motorcyclist Who Claimed to Carry a Weapon While Threatening Driver in Depok Apologises

Police have stepped in to investigate a motorcyclist who threatened a car driver and claimed to be carrying a sharp weapon on Jalan Juanda, Depok. The motorcyclist, named Samsudin Marbun, has now apologised.

“I, Samsudin Marbun, apologise to the car driver involved in the incident on Tuesday night at 9 o’clock on Juanda,” Samsudin said, as seen on the Instagram account @jatanras_depok on Thursday (27/8/2026).

Samsudin said he was startled after a minor collision on the road. Because of that, he spontaneously claimed to be carrying a sharp weapon during the argument with the driver.

“So I was shocked, and when we stopped, I said I was carrying a weapon. I did not mean to threaten you because it was spontaneous. Thank you, and I apologise to the car driver,” he said.

In a video that circulated on Wednesday (26/8), the motorcyclist is seen approaching the driver and claiming to be carrying a sharp weapon during the argument. The driver recorded the incident.

“Why? What did I do wrong?” the driver asked.

“I’m carrying a weapon, just go away,” the motorcyclist said while approaching the driver.

“Be careful, sir, don’t bring a weapon, it’s dangerous,” the driver replied.

“What do you mean?” the motorcyclist responded.

The incident reportedly took place on Monday (23/8) at 8.35 p.m. Western Indonesia Time on Jalan Juanda, Depok. The argument was allegedly triggered by a minor collision on the road.

The driver attempted to warn the motorcyclist and asked him to pull over. However, the motorcyclist briefly took an object believed to be a sharp weapon from the motorcycle seat. Concerned for his safety, the driver left the scene.
