Motorcyclist Slashed After Roadside Clash in Bandung’s Arcamanik District
BANDUNG — A motorcyclist was slashed by an unknown assailant after a dispute on Jalan Pesantren, Sukamiskin, in Arcamanik district, Bandung, on Sunday (14 October 2026). The victim sustained injuries from a sharp weapon.
Arcamanik Police Criminal Investigation Unit chief Iptu Ridwan said the attack began when the victim and his friends were travelling along Jalan Pesantren and encountered a group of people.
“There may have been a problem on the road at that point — some kind of friction. It turned into a fight involving machetes, and they fled,” he said on Wednesday (14 October 2026).
One person was reported injured in the attack. Police have visited the scene to conduct an investigation.
The police are still investigating, and Arcamanik Police detectives are pursuing the assailants, who fled after the incident.
“We are still investigating and collecting CCTV footage and information. The assailants fled,” he said.
The incident went viral on social media with claims that it was a mugging. Ridwan stressed that it was not a robbery.
“The preliminary information indicates it was not a robbery. A robbery involves property being taken, and nothing was taken in this case,” he said.
