Motorcyclist Run Over by Transjakarta Bus After Failed Overtake on Sudirman

A motorcyclist was sideswiped and then run over by a Transjakarta bus after failing to overtake on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, South Jakarta, on Saturday afternoon. The Head of the Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate, AKPB Ojo Ruslani, explained that the accident occurred around 3.15 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. Ruslan stated the accident began when the motorcycle, ridden by Dikin (49), was travelling from north to south on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. Upon arriving in front of the Atma Jaya campus, Dikin attempted to overtake the Transjakarta bus travelling in the same direction but was sideswiped due to insufficient space to pass. As a result of the accident, Dikin suffered injuries to his right leg and was taken to the Dr. Mintohardjo Navy Hospital for further treatment. The motorcycle sustained damage to its right front fender, while the Transjakarta bus suffered scratches on its left side. Ruslani stated that the investigation into potential suspects in the incident is ongoing.
