Motorcyclist killed after being struck by Transjakarta bus in Penjaringan following collision with busway separator

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A motorcyclist identified as AP (27) died after being struck by a Transjakarta bus following a collision with a busway separator on Jalan Bandengan Utara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Friday (6 March 2026) around 05:30 WIB. Sub-Directorate of Traffic Enforcement of the Metro Jaya Police AKBP Ojo Ruslani explained that the incident began when AP travelled along Jalan Bandengan Utara from Gedong Panjang towards Jembatan Dua Raya. As a result, the motorcyclist fell and lay in the Transjakarta lane. Behind him, a Transjakarta bus driven by T (48) arrived. Because the distance was too close, the bus could not brake in time and ran over the rider who lay in the road. "As a result of the incident, the involved vehicles sustained damage and the motorcyclist died at the scene," said Ojo.
