Motorcyclist in Cianjur Falls Into Ravine After Big Bike Cuts Lane and Brakes Suddenly
Jakarta - A motorcyclist in Cianjur fell into a ravine and sustained injuries due to a dangerous maneuver by a group of big bike riders while overtaking on the South Cianjur route. Police are still identifying the big bike rider who fled after the incident. The dangerous act went viral on social media.
In the 1-minute-20-second video, a motorcyclist identified as Dian Rusdiana (34) can be seen riding from the direction of Sindangbarang toward Cianjur. Shortly after, one big bike overtook him. After riding for some time, another big bike suddenly overtook him as well. However, in the area of Kampung Cigadog, Sukajaya Village, Tanggeug Subdistrict, the second big bike immediately cut in front of his vehicle and suddenly braked.
Dian’s motorcycle with license plate number B-3402-GEZ crashed into the rear of the big bike that had dangerously overtaken him. As a result, Dian’s motorcycle swerved and plunged into a ravine on the right side of the road.
“The victim, who was riding from the direction of Sindangbarang, was overtaken in a dangerous manner by a group of big bikes as seen in the video. This caused the victim to fall into the ravine,” said Cianjur Police Traffic Unit Head AKP Aang Andi Suhandi, as reported by detikJabar on Thursday (2/12/2026).
According to him, when the victim fell, he got caught on a tree branch and did not fall to the bottom of the ravine, which has a total depth of 15 meters.
“The victim only fell to a depth of 5 meters. He didn’t reach the bottom because he got caught on a tree branch on the cliff,” he said.
Residents and passing motorists managed to evacuate the victim.
“Although he was successfully rescued, the victim sustained injuries to his right leg, affecting his mobility,” he said.
He explained that the big bike rider continued on his journey and did not stop to help the victim.
“The big bike kept going. Therefore, we are searching for the identity of the big bike rider,” he said.
