Motorcyclist Enters Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road After Following Google Maps

A motorcyclist entered the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road at KM 50.400, Lane A. Head of the Cikampek Highway Patrol, Kompol Sandy Titah Nugraha, explained that the motorcycle was ridden by a woman who claimed she entered the toll road because she was following a navigation app.

The rider was heading to the KIIC Industrial Estate. However, by following directions from Google Maps, she was instead directed onto the toll road via the West Karawang Toll Gate. The motorcyclist entered the toll road at 8.30 a.m. WIB. Patrol officers in unit Z-9573 stopped the motorcyclist at KM 50.400 A at 8.40 a.m. WIB.

The rider was identified as Kokom Komalasari, a resident of Badami Cisalak, West Karawang, and she did not possess a driving licence. The matter has been referred to the relevant unit. Officers provided education regarding the prohibition of two-wheeled vehicles on toll roads for safety reasons. The rider was then escorted safely out of the toll road via the East Karawang Toll Gate at 9.00 a.m. WIB.
