Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Pothole and Being Struck by Truck in North Jakarta

A motorcyclist died after being struck by a truck on Jalan RE Martadinata, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta. The victim was hit by the truck after his motorcycle hit a pothole.

“The victim died at the scene. The Yamaha Gear motorcycle rider, Mr. DR, suffered injuries to his hands, mouth, and ears,” said the Head of Law Enforcement Unit of the North Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit, AKP Edi Wibowo, on Wednesday (25/2/2026).

This unfortunate incident occurred at around 09:20 WIB. Edi said the accident began when the victim was travelling from east to west.

“Upon arriving at the scene near the Ancol Water Pumping Station, he hit a pothole,” he said.

Then the victim swerved to the left and fell off his motorcycle. At that moment, a trailer truck came from the same direction and the victim was struck.

“The motorcyclist died at the scene and the vehicle was damaged on the left side and front body,” he concluded.
