Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting a Tree on the Ngurah Rai Bypass, Kuta

Single-vehicle road crash occurred on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai Utara, precisely at Simpang Kuta, Badung Regency, on Thursday (5 March 2026) at around 03:00 WITA. A motorcycle rider died at the scene. The victim is identified as AAP (19), a resident of Cilacap, Central Java, who was riding a Yamaha Mio Soul with licence plate DK 6382 FAB. The Head of Traffic Unit of Denpasar Police, Kompol Yusuf Dwi Admodjo, confirmed the incident. The incident report was received by police around 03:15 WITA. ‘The road crash involved a Yamaha Mio Soul around 03:00 WITA and was reported at 03:15 WITA,’ Yusuf said. Based on initial investigations, before the incident the victim was travelling from south to north along Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai. Upon arrival at the scene, the rider allegedly lost control of the motorbike. ‘When he reached the scene, the rider allegedly lost balance and veered to the left before hitting an ornamental tree on the left side of the road,’ Yusuf explained. As a result of the impact, the victim sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. ‘The victim died at the scene. The case is still being handled by officers,’ he concluded. He also urged road users to always exercise caution while driving, especially at night and in the early hours, and to ensure their physical condition and vehicle are in good condition before travelling.
