Motorcyclist dies after being run over by Transjakarta bus following collision with busway separator on Gunung Sahari

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — The motorcyclist identified as SP (23) died after being run over by a Transjakarta bus following a collision with a busway separator on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (4 March 2026) at 23:30 WIB. The incident began when the Transjakarta bus, driven by RJ (48), was travelling south along Jalan Gunung Sahari in front of the BPK Penabur Jakarta Pusat School. While the bus was in the bus lane, a Honda PCX motorcycle with registration NRKB B-3564-POR, ridden by SP, suddenly came from the left and struck the busway separator. “The motorcycle then fell. And because the distance to other vehicles was already close, the Transjakarta bus could not avoid,” Ojo said when contacted on Thursday (5 March 2026). The motorcyclist SP then went under the bus. As a result of the crash, both vehicles were damaged. “Motorcyclist SP sustained injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, the passenger MGP sustained open head injuries and a broken leg,” he explained. Ojo added that the Transjakarta bus driver is currently being questioned by police. Police are also conducting an investigation and have not yet named a suspect in the incident.
