Jakarta (ANTARA) - A motorcyclist carrying three children was hit by a car on the flyover in Slipi, Palmerah, West Jakarta, on Wednesday night at around 11.15 pm. As a result, the woman, named Fitry Yani (37), suffered serious injuries and had to be rushed to Pelni Petamburan Hospital.

“The mother was carrying three children. The mother suffered serious injuries and is now being treated at Pelni Hospital. The three children are safe, not hospitalised, and only suffered minor injuries,” said the Head of the Law Enforcement Unit (Kanit Gakkum) of the West Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit, AKP Joko Siswanto, when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta, Thursday.

Initially, Joko said, a minibus with number plate B-2563-SXZ driven by Alfian Awalludin was travelling on Jalan Kemanggisan Utama Raya from east to west.

“Upon arriving near Jalan Inspeksi Slipi, it collided with a motorcycle with number plate B-3910-BGK driven by Fitri Yani, who was carrying three children, ZJN, HZJ and AZMR, travelling in the same direction in front and to the right (of the car),” said Joko.

The collision caused the motorcyclist, Fitri Yani, to suffer serious injuries. “She suffered lacerations to the head, abrasions and bruises on the face, legs, arms and chest. She was then treated at Pelni Petamburan Hospital,” Joko said.
