Motorcyclist Accident at Former Condet Excavation Site, Contractor Affirms Full Responsibility
The contractor for the excavation project on Jalan Raya Condet in East Jakarta, PT Buana Djaya Harapan (PT BDH), has stated that it takes full responsibility for the accident involving a motorcyclist named Nurul Fadilah on Tuesday (24/3/2026). The incident, which briefly went viral on social media, occurred right in front of Rindam Jaya.
The accident began when the victim, riding a motorcycle with licence plate F 5822 FDW, attempted to overtake another vehicle from the left side. However, the victim lost control and fell into the area of the former excavation site, which had experienced structural subsidence (sinkhole).
As a result of the incident, the victim sustained injuries to her temple and lost a front tooth. The victim was promptly evacuated by ambulance from Rindam Jaya to RSUD Pasar Rebo for medical treatment.
Project Manager of PT Buana Djaya Harapan, Agung, expressed deep concern and affirmed that the company has acted swiftly to assist the victim.
“From PT BDH, we express our condolences for this incident. We have met with the victim’s family and take full responsibility throughout the recovery process, including providing compensation as well as covering medical costs and vehicle repairs,” Agung told reporters on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
Agung explained that during the period from 17–26 March 2026, his team had actually covered the entire former excavation site with concreting and asphalt paving. However, structural subsidence occurred at one point, which then triggered the accident.
As a preventive measure to ensure similar incidents do not recur, PT BDH is now carrying out permanent repairs with stronger technical standards.
“The repairs are being done with re-compaction, concreting using iron reinforcement, and asphalt paving to make it stronger and safer for road users,” Agung explained.
In agreement, Project Manager of PT Air Bersih Jakarta, Topan Suwendi, assured that the on-site repair process has been directly reviewed to comply with established procedures.
“We are also saddened by this incident and ensure that the repairs are carried out permanently in accordance with standards so that similar incidents do not happen again,” Topan said.
Currently, Nurul Fadilah’s condition is reported to be steadily improving, and she will soon be allowed to leave RSUD Pasar Rebo for outpatient treatment.
On the other hand, PAM Jaya has also provided clarification through its official social media channels to correct the information circulating in the community regarding the incident.
