Motorcycles for health workers

SEMARANG, Central Java: Health centers in 35 regencies here
have recently received 418 motorcycles from the government to
give their health workers greater mobility, Antara reported.

The head of the Central Java office of the Ministry of Health,
Dr. Djaka Handaja, said on Saturday that with the new means of
transportation, the paramedics are expected to serve more remote
places.

There are currently 833 health centers scattered across the
villages and regencies here, with 629 operational cars and 777
motorcycles. There are also three boats to serve coastal
villages.

Djaka said the number of vehicles is still far from adequate.
