A motorcycle suspected of having brake failure crashed into a large tree on Selat Village Road in Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency, Bali, killing two people.

As reported by detikBali on Friday (23 October 2026), Buleleng Police public relations chief Iptu Yohana Rosalin Diaz said the crash occurred at about 2pm local time in Banjar Dinas Tukad Juwuk, Selat Village.

The Honda Vario, registration number DK 5491 FAY, was ridden by Lilik Prianto, 47, a resident of Jatiasih, Bekasi City, West Java. He was carrying Faisal Syachori, 47, from Semper Barat, Cilincing, North Jakarta.

“Both suffered bleeding from the nose and ears. After they were taken to Parama Sidhi Hospital in Singaraja, the duty doctor pronounced them dead,” Yohana said when contacted on Thursday (22 October 2026).

Yohana said the motorcycle, ridden by Lilik, was travelling from south to north. When it reached the crash site, it was going down a steep slope.

The motorcycle’s brakes are suspected to have failed. It then veered out of control and struck a large tree on the western side of the road.
