Motorcycle Valve Removal Operation Conducted in Jakarta; Illegal Parking Attendants Detained

The Jakarta Provincial Government has conducted a simultaneous crackdown on illegal parking and unauthorised parking attendants across five administrative cities, including Kebon Kacang, Jakarta, on Monday (8/6/2026). Dozens of motorcycles were affected by the ‘valve removal’ operation on the first day of the enforcement action led by the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub).

Observations showed two-wheeled vehicles parked in the Kebon Kacang area being transported via Dishub trucks. This large-scale operation involves joint personnel from the Transportation Agency, the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Social Affairs Agency, the Population and Civil Registration Agency (Dukcapil), as well as elements of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri).

The Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Budi Awaludin, emphasised that the operation will run at full intensity for one week, before gradually reducing in frequency in the following weeks. In addition to targeting vehicles, the Jakarta Provincial Government is collaborating with the Social Affairs and Dukcapil agencies to verify the identities of the illegal parking attendants caught in the sweep, distinguishing this from standard raids.

In the Gambir area, officers were seen removing valves from motorcycles parked illegally. According to officials, illegal parking and unauthorised parking attendants represent the second most reported issue to the police, following road-related problems. A total of 600 joint personnel have been deployed for the crackdown, which aims to target not only illegally parked two- and four-wheeled vehicles but also to map and secure illegal parking attendants involved in unauthorised collections.
